International Houses

International Houses were established to contribute to the promotion of international exchange in the education and research fields, house international students and researchers admitted into the University, and carry out international exchange activities.

The International House located on Shinagawa Campus provides accommodation for International Students enrolled at TUMSAT. The 7-story building offers 48 single rooms, 6 rooms for married couples, and 6 rooms for families. All of them are equipped with kitchen, toilet and bathroom facilities. In principle, residents are allowed to stay for a maximum of 2 years (1 year and 6 months for Japanese government scholarship students recommended by an embassy who have spent 6 months in an intensive Japanese language course).
Rooms are attributed according to the following order of priority:
1. International students who enroll at TUMSAT for a period of one year or less based on an exchange agreement with a foreign university
2. Japanese government scholarship students
3. Self-financed international students dispatched by a foreign government
4. Students enrolled on the basis of a program to train highly-skilled specialists (trilateral agreement between Japan, China and South Korea)
5. Students not covered by items 1 to 4, who enroll directly at TUMSAT after coming to Japan without having studied at another Japanese institution (priority goes to graduate students, followed by undergraduate students)
6. Other students (priority goes to graduate students, followed by undergraduate students)
