Housing guarantee, etc.

International Student Housing Comprehensive Compensation

In general, when renting a private apartment in Japan, a guarantor is required for moving in.The Japan Educational Exchanges and Services Association's Comprehensive Insurance for Foreign Students' Housing is a system that reduces the mental and financial burden of guarantors and makes it easier for international students to take on the role of guarantor.

This system is for international students living in private apartments, etc., who cause accidents such as accidental fires or water leaks, and damage other people's property and are liable for damages. In addition to paying insurance benefits in the event of residual disability due to injury, rent payments to the landlord are delayed for some reason, or if it is necessary to repair or restore the rented room to its original state, the joint guarantor will cover the costs for this. Compensation will be paid to the joint guarantor when payment is made on behalf of the international student.

This system also applies to private apartments, etc., where international students live.Only if the joint guarantor is a faculty member of the universityavailable. If your academic advisor will be a guarantor for a foreign student, please consider joining the system.
