Student exchange program at partner universities

Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology has concluded student exchange agreements with universities around the world.Academic exchanges such as joint research and seminars are conducted with these partner universities, and short-term exchange programs of up to one year are possible with universities with which we have partnered with universities.

Flow to study abroad

1. Obtain information on universities with exchange agreements and contact faculty members at the International Student Section, Student Support Section, or on their website.

2. Search for information on partner universities on websites, etc., and decide which university you want.

The purpose of an exchange program is not to study a foreign language, but to study specialized subjects at a foreign university.Therefore, applicants for universities in English-speaking countries, in particular, should already have a certain level of language ability ( Criteria for evaluating language proficiency(115.6 KB) ) must be reached. (Language scores such as TOEIC and TOEFL are required, so be sure to prepare them.)

3. Consult with the faculty member of the university where you wish to study.

4. Recruitment starts from early October

Do I have to pay tuition fees to the partner university?

You will pay tuition fees to our university, but you do not need to pay them to the partner universities.

How much does it cost to live?

It also depends on which region the university you want is located in. (It is generally said that the cost of living in Europe is high.) Also, it depends on the dormitory fee (about XNUMX ~) of the desired university.It would be a good idea to think about dormitory expenses + food expenses + α.

Are there scholarships available?

There is an overseas study support system (short-term dispatch) (60,000 yen to 100,000 yen per month, benefits), and we will recommend applicants who meet the scholarship payment requirements to the Japan Student Services Organization.In addition, there is a student exchange promotion project (30,000 yen per month, benefit) based on the student exchange agreement, which is a scholarship unique to our university. *The schedule for the next fiscal year is undecided.

Can I live in the dormitory of the partner university where I study abroad?
