The history of Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine, the predecessor of the Faculty of Marine Technology at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, is celebrating its 1875th anniversary since its founding as the Mitsubishi School of Mercantile Marine in 8 (Meiji 150). Since its founding, the school has trained navigators and engineers for merchant ships, and has produced a wide range of human resources for the maritime and distribution industries to date. In recent years, in light of the direction of global society and the SDGs, the importance of engineering contributions and education in the maritime industry, such as the development of new power energy technology, the development of autonomous ships, and the use of digital technologies such as DX promotion and AI in logistics, has increased. Looking ahead to the next 50 years, we aim to be a faculty that will continue to be a necessary presence for society and students. In order to realize the education and research required of the Faculty of Marine Technology, we would like to receive the support of not only our graduates, but also many people in general. We would appreciate your support for this purpose and your special consideration.

About the previous 120th anniversary event
In 1995, the 120th anniversary project was carried out and the facility was converted into the Japan Foundation. We received many donations. Thank you very much.
The purpose of this fund is to further promote international exchange in the Faculty of Marine Technology and to contribute to the promotion of education and academic research.
Thanks to this fund, for 30 years we have been able to provide support for travel expenses for students to present at international conferences, as well as support for exchanges with overseas researchers.
This has made a significant contribution to the development of international exchange in the Faculty of Marine Engineering.
