Kick-off International Symposium "Challenges and Expectations in Fish Disease Research" held
On Monday, December 8, 2025, the Institute of Aquatic Biotechnology (Infectious Disease Control Division) of our university hosted the kick-off international symposium, "Challenges and Expectations in Fish Disease Research ~From Southeast Asia to Japan~."
Six prominent fish disease researchers from Southeast Asia were invited to the symposium, and lively discussions were held on how Japan can contribute to the problem of fish disease in the rapidly developing aquaculture industry in the region and research topics aimed at resolving this problem.
The event was held in a hybrid format, with 40 people attending on-site and over 75 people attending online from Japan and overseas, for a total of over 115 people, making it a great success.
We at the Institute will continue to utilize the insights gained from this discussion to further deepen our international collaboration and promote our research activities. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who participated and to all those involved who provided their cooperation.
