The Department of Ocean Policy and Cultural Studies provides comprehensive education and research on issues surrounding the ocean and coastal areas, as well as the ideal relationship between the ocean, people, and society, from a perspective that combines the humanities and sciences, with a focus on the humanities and social sciences.2040The aim is to develop the infrastructure to drive the promotion of marine industries and the transformation of marine societies in marine-related fields. The faculty member to be recruited will conduct research and education focused on the international food business system, with a focus on clarifying the current state and conducting empirical analysis of food trade, including fishery products, international markets, and quality and international management standards. In addition, the faculty member will conduct research related to the creation of a new blue economy in collaboration with the Department of Marine Bioresource Science and the Department of Food Production Science in the Faculty of Marine Life Science (participation in an interdepartmental research group is planned).)Furthermore, the Department of Marine Bioresource Science focuses on themes such as modeling fisheries resource dynamics under climate change and creating foundational resource management methods, while the Department of Food Production Science focuses on technological development for quality assurance and optimizing the quality of fishery products and food for export. We are broadly recruiting individuals, including those who are interested in expanding their research from their current areas into the marine and fisheries fields. In the future, they are expected to take on leadership roles in our university's programs aimed at the sustainable development of the fisheries industry, covering everything from production to processing and distribution across various fields related to the marine environment. The results of these activities will also be reflected in performance evaluations after employment. You will be responsible for or sharing some of the following subjects.
