The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will hold a poster session of the Industry-Academia-Government Cooperation Council (Preparatory Council) for Creating Opportunities for "Knowledge" Accumulation and Utilization at the Memorial Hall of the 85th Anniversary on the Ecchujima Campus of the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology on Monday, March 7, 2016. This poster session is open to the public, allowing participants to take photos at the venue.

1. Outline

For the full-scale implementation of "opportunities for 'knowledge' accumulation and utilization," a new framework for industry-academia-government cooperative research, from FY2016, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has set up the Industry-Academia-Government Cooperation Council (Preparatory Council), which more than 570 private companies, universities and research institutions, producers, municipalities, etc. have already joined.
The Industry-Academia-Government Cooperation Council (Preparatory Council) has been holding seminars and workshops on a trial basis to promote the formation of "research and development platforms" that address common challenges to launching a new business or developing a new product under certain themes. Since many members of the council are highly motivated to play an active role, the council has decided to hold a poster session as an opportunity for its members to voluntarily present and exchange new technologies and ideas as well as challenges in the field, thereby further promoting the formation of "research and development platforms." The poster session is aimed to encourage exhibitors and visitors to have contact with each other and cooperate for future research and development through the exhibition of posters by accepted applicants on the latest technologies and ideas that could accelerate the turning of the agriculture, forestry, fisheries and food industries into growth industries.
