Outline of Lecture

A story about a river and Japanese char connecting mountains and the sea

Lecturer

Fumiya Okuyama (The visiting professor of Industry-University and Community Cooperation Promotion Organization in Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology)

Moderator:

At fishing college, we study "fish ecology", "food for fish", and "waterside environment" from various perspectives through fishing.

In this lecture, we would like to think about the waterside environment through the fish called "Japanese char." Japanese char inhabits in the uppermost stream of the river where water temperature is low. They live far from the downstream where many people live. If you learn about the environment where "Japanese char" can live and more about this fish, you can understand the waterside environment more easily. Also, we would like to share about "attraction of place" which is called headstream, ravine, and mountain stream with participants.
