Information about holding the 3rd Meijimaru Photo and Picture Contest

pc_3_web_.jpgFollowing the 1st Meijimaru Photo Contest and the 2nd Meijimaru Photo and Picture Contest, which drew many applicants, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology will hold the 3rd Meijimaru Photo and Picture Contest this year as well.
For this time, we advertise for works of pictures drawn by general people as well as works of photos (taken by general people) and works of pictures drawn by children under the age of elementary school students.
The prize winners will be awarded prizes on the Marine Day of July 16, 2018. We welcome applications by our alumni, our teachers and our students as well as general people. We look forward to your applications!

The period for application From November 1, 2017 (Thursday) to May 31, 2018 (Thursday)
Guidelines for applicants

Theme: Scenes seen within the grounds of the Etchujima Campus, including the Meijimaru

Works related to historic sites within the grounds of the Etchujima Campus, including the Meijimaru, which were photo-shot or created after June 2017. Both works that involve people and works that do not involve people will do. But if your photo involves someone who can be identified, please gain permission for the right of portrait for application and publication by yourself.

■The photo category (general and photo works)
You can publish color, monochromatic and corrected photos as well. Please make it 1 to 5MB in the case of data and fold it into four pieces of A4 in the case of print.

■The general picture and children's picture category (under the age of elementary school students)
The size is up to A3. Any painting material will do. But we will not accept three-dimensional works and digital works.

You can apply for up to five pieces of work per person in either of the categories.

How to apply

■The photo category (general and photo works)
By email: Please enter "Application for the Meijimaru Photo Contest" in the subject, write the title of your work, your name, your address and your telephone number in the email message, attach your work and send it to the following email address. You can also apply by smartphone.
By postal service or direct delivery: Please put a print of your photo in an envelope, write "This contains a work for the contest" on the right face and send it by post to the following address with a cover on which the title of your work, your name, your address and your telephone number are written. ※If you present more than one work, please send works whose seasonal concepts and themes are different.

■The general picture and children's picture category (under the age of elementary school students)
Works must be sent by post or directly delivered. Please put your work in an envelope or wrap it in thick paper, write "This contains a work for the contest" on the right face and bring it to the following address or send it by post to the following address with a cover on which the title of your work, your name, your address and your telephone number are written.

The personal information we receive will not be used for any purpose except for matters related to this event.

The announcement of the results

The results will be announced on June 22, 2018 (Friday).

The awarding ceremony will be held on July 16, 2018 (Monday, holiday).

The prize-winners will be announced on the website of our university and will be awarded prizes on the Marine Day of July 16.

The copyrights of applied works shall belong to the organizer and applied works will not be returned in principle. Please be careful in advance that applied works will be used for public relations activities, such as pamphlets and websites, as well as exhibitions held by the organizer. In addition, we will post the titles of your works and your names when we announce the results. If you do not hope that your name will be announced, please let us know that at the time of application.
