Trainees of "JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program (Region Focus)" from Thailand visited TUMSAT (2018/6/4～6/8)

From June 4 to 8, 2018, five trainees from Fish Inspection and Quality Control, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Agricultural and Cooperative, Thailand, visited TUMSAT and took short-term training course. This training course, titled "Capacity building to improve and harmonize laboratory methodology for food additives and contaminants in fishery products" was commissioned to TUMSAT by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and conducted for 2 weeks from May 28. Other than the period of training at TUMSAT, the trainees visited House Foods Group Inc. from May 28 to June 1 and Japan Food Research Laboratories on June 5th to attend lectures and laboratory works.
During the training course at TUMSAT, Dr. Masashi Maita, Professor, Department of Marine Biosciences, gave lectures and laboratory works to them. They also visited facilities in Shinagawa Campus, including the Marine Science Museum.
