JICA trainees from Pacific Islands visited TUMSAT (2018/6/14)

On June 14, 2018, ten trainees from Pacific Islands (Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, and Vanuatu) visited TUMSAT. This visit was organized as a part of the training course of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Hokuriku Branch Office, titled "Fishery Using Resource Management Approach Course." The training course was implemented for the purpose of understanding fisheries resource management in Japan, targeting at government officials involved in fisheries administration in Pacific Islands. At TUMSAT, Dr. Osamu Baba, Professor, Department of Marine Policy and Culture, gave a lecture titled "Community Based Fishery Management and Community Business in Japan." They also visited the Marine Science Museum.
