TUMSAT held Cross-Cultural Experience Bus Tour on September 5 - 6. This bus tour was sponsored by the Nakajima Foundation and the purpose is to provide an opportunity for TUMSAT's international students to deepen regional understanding (regional culture, nature disaster and so on).
28 international students from 10 countries and 6 Japanese students joined the tour and learned history of nature disaster at Iyashino-Sato NENBA and Mt. Fuji Research Institute, regional food culture through experienced making Kamaboko and Chikuwa at Suzuhiro Kamaboko Village and regional history at Odawara Castle. We stayed 1 night at TUMSAT Oizumi station in Yamanashi prefecture. At the station, students observed freshwater fish farms, joined a cross-cultural activity and enjoyed rich natural environment around the area that they cannot see in our Tokyo campus. In addition, through 2 days program, the participants deepened exchanges and friendships beyond their nationalities, majors, campuses and so on. The tour was very meaningful and valuable.
