On December 5th, 2018, nine trainees of "JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program (Region Focus)" from Myanmar payed a courtesy visit to our President, Dr. Toshio Takeuchi. The Program aims to train administrators/researchers in Myanmar in the field of fisheries science, and it is the second time to conduct this training program. Four of the Trainees are from Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, and five of them are from University of Yangon.
Dr. Osamu Baba, Dr. Naotomo Nakahara, (who are in charge of the training program,) and Dr. Takeshi Kobayashi, (who acts as a contact person of the cooperation between TUMSAT and these two institutions,) also attended the meeting. The participants exchanged active opinions on the future collaboration in the fields of fisheries science between Japan and Myanmar.
After the meeting, they attended a lecture by Dr. Baba, and visited facilities in Shinagawa Campus.
