The Call of TUMSAT's Umitaka-Maru at Bali, Indonesia(2019/12/8)
:Students and their families of Japanese Language Supplementary School and Children of a Nursing Home Visited TUMSAT's Training Ship at Benoa Port, Bali, Indonesia.

The purpose of this visit to Umitaka-Maru was to promote the international exchange and the friendship between Japan and Indonesia, taking the occasion of the call of TUMSAT's training ship, Umitaka-Maru at Benoa Port, Bali, Indonesia on 8 December, 2019.

Hirohisa Chiba, Consul-General of Japan in Denpasar, and Koichi Ohashi, the Deputy Consul-General were welcomed by Captain Noda, Chief Engineer Sakamoto and Vice-president Horiuchi; and students and their families of Japanese language supplementary school in Denpasar, and Indonesian children in a nursing home attended the event. The total number of participants was 225.

The exciting voices that this was the first time to see the inside of the ship were heard from children, and some children walked round the ship twice. The participants really enjoyed visiting there and taking pictures with the Captain, the crew, and cadets of Umitaka-Maru.

On 9 December, 2019, Captain Noda, Vice president Horiuchi, and other crew and staff at TUMSAT were invited to the official dinner at the consul general's official residence in Denpasar.

Captain Noda, Vice-President Horiuchi, Chief Engineer Sakamoto, Chief Officer Hagita, First Engineer Fujiwara, Director of the Facilities Management Division Shibuya, and Director of the Academic Support and International Division Kiya.

The participants talked about the current situation of Indonesia and the voyage of Umitaka-Maru.

In this way, TUMSAT contributed to the friendship between Japan and Indonesia through the call of Umitaka-Maru at the port, Bali, Indonesia.
