The registered tangible cultural property: "Unyo-maru"
Unyo-maru is a bark-type sailing ship built in 1909.
For 20 years since May 1909 to August 1929, she sailed for 33 cruises and significantly contributed to whaling training, fishery investigation, student training, development of fishery skills and tools, etc., while succeeded in crab canning on the ship in the seafood processing field and became a pioneer of the large-scale crab-processing ship.
She was moved to the current location on the Shinagawa Campus in 1962 and was registered as a tangible cultural property
