School of Marine Science: Approx. 98% of Students in the Third Year Cleared the Requirement of TOICD Score above 600 for the Advancement to the Fourth Year

The students in the third year are the first students to whom School of Marine Science, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology has applied requirement of TOEIC score above 600 for the advancement to the fourth year, and approx. 98% of the students cleared it.
In the Academic Year of 2012, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology was adopted for the Global Human Resources Development Promotion Project (Special Type B) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, since then the University has introduced the requirement of TOEIC score above 600 to advance from the third year to the fourth in its education program as a part of the three major educational reforms.
Incidentally, the Global Human Resources Development Promotion Project was renamed to Top Global University Project - Support for Developing Global Human Resources to Lead the Development of the Economics and Society in 2014. In the interim assessment of this program implemented in 2014, the University was rated S, which was given only two universities among the 31 universities adopted for this project.
