Application for first half tuition exemption in FY 2016 for the students affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake

We will accept the applications for first half tuition exemption in FY 2016 for the students affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Regarding this matter, as we will distribute the application documents as follows, please go through procedure within the application period after receiving the application documents and preparing necessary documents (documents such as certificates must be issued after January 1st, 2016.).

If you cannot come to receive the application documents due to unavoidable circumstances, please request an agent to do so or down load the "application documents for first half tuition exemption in FY 2016" (PDF version) which is posted on "Related Documents" below, and prepare the documents in the specified form. Please note that we do not distribute the application documents by mail.

Please do not use the form posted here for the purpose other than the application for tuition exemption

Furthermore, if you cannot submit the application documents within the application period, please be sure to notify to that effect to the unit in charge by Friday, April 1st.
Please note that in case the application period passed without any notice, there are some cases we cannot accept the documents.

Application Qualification

  1. At the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake, in the event the residence of the main defrayer of school expenses was located in the area where the Disaster Relief Act is applied in the prefectures of Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima, Tochigi, Ibaraki and Chiba and his/her life or body was harmed, or in the event the residence of the defrayer of school expenses was more than half destroyed, and anyone who falls under any of the followings;
    ①In the event the main defrayer of school expenses was killed
    ②In the event the main defrayer of school expenses is missing
    ③In the event the residence owned by the main defrayer of school expenses was completely destroyed, half destroyed on a large scale, or half destroyed (excluding partially destroyed)
  2. Due to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, in the event the residence of the main defrayer of school expenses was located in the areas designated as the restricted areas or the planned evacuation areas at the time of disaster (including the areas later on designated, by changing the areas, as the zone in preparation for the lifting of the evacuation order, the restricted residence area, and the difficult-to-return zone);

In addition, an envelope for notification (prescribed by the University) will be distributed.
(In case you use PDF version, please make sure you will prepare an envelope for notification.)

Period and Place of Acceptance

excluding Saturday and Sunday

Shinagawa Area

Date and Time noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 8th
noon to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 11th and Tuesday, April 12th
Place As the place of acceptance will be announced on a bulletin board and the website of the University around late March, please be sure to confirm it.

Ecchujima Area

Date and Time noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12th and Wednesday, April 13th
Place at the 1st Conference Room on the 1st floor of the 1st Building

Please apply at the campus you belong to.

As congestion is expected in both areas on the last day, please apply in an earlier time.

  3. Disaster-Victim Certificate

Please do not use the form posted here for the purpose other than the application for tuition exemption

Notification of Selection Result

The selection result will be notified to the student him/herself and the joint surety.
(The selection result will be notified around late June.)

Because the tuition is deferred until a selection result is decided, please do not pay the tuition until receiving the notification of the selection result.
