Takanawa Police Station gave a lecture on "crime prevention measures, etc." for international students.

 Takanawa Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department gave a lecture on "crime prevention measures, etc." in Lecture Room 44, Lecture Building in Shinagawa Campus on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, receiving approximately 50 participants including international students, tutors and university staff members. The lecture was held for international students and their tutors to prepare them for safe and comfortable life in Japan.

After the opening speech given by Mr. Toshiaki Wakabayashi, the chief inspector of Takanawa Police Station, lectures on anti-crime measures and traffic safety were given by the officers in charge of each theme, accompanied by consecutive interpreters. The lectures were followed by screening of DVD in English about preparation for great earthquake and other disasters. The lectures and practical training provided the participants with profound understanding of the crimes committed in Tokyo and the strategies for protecting themselves as well as the traffic rules unique to Japan. They all watched seriously the powerful images of the DVD. The lecture made great contribution to increase the participants' awareness about self-protection and disaster prevention.
