Beware of Fraudulent Recruitment Business

To TUMSAT students

Director, Student Support
Masaaki Inaishi

It has been brought to our notice that certain students at TUMSAT and other universities are victimized by fraudsters demanding a hefty participation fee for a seminar or other recruitment events that fraudulently provide support to college students for their job-hunting activities.

You must stay alert to related seminars allowing you to participate in free of charge because they are often used as a contact point by certain cult organizations for solicitation purposes.

The fraudsters hang around the venue of recruitment event and solicit students with a friendly approach by taking advantage of their emotional insecurity about job-hunting activities. Quite a few students naively give their names and mobile phone numbers to the fraudsters.

Please be sure that you will never release your personal information without caution at a questionable recruitment seminar. According to the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan, more than 100 inquiries are received from fraud victim students each year. Please feel free to contact the following offices when you are in trouble.
