概要(Abstract):

Aquatic eutrophication and the resultant outbreak of harmful algal blooms have still been one of the main environmental problems facing world's lakes and reservoirs, which are threatening not only the biodiversity of aquatic ecosystems, but also the health of human beings who have

used these water bodies as their drinking water sources. Although the consensus has been reached that it is essential to control pollution sources for the mitigation of aquatic eutrophication and it has become the routine practice to adopt either biomanipulation or nontraditional biomanipulation in lakes and reservoirs to maintain the stability where the main sources of pollution have been well controlled. However, lakes and reservoirs are and will be still facing impacts from the nonpoint sources of pollution, which often lack effective methods to mitigate so far. The effectiveness of both biomanipulation has also been questioned due to the lack of deep understanding of the underline ecological mechanism of biomanipulation. Besides, ecological studies so far have seldomly taken the hydraulic factors (such as flow rate and discharge, etc.) into account and the tempo-spatial processes are thus often neglected. In this presentation, we introduce you the basic concept of the so-called aquatic environmental protection oriented (AEPO) fishery, report the results of our long-term study on the interactions between the lake AEPO fishery and environment parameters in a Chinese reservoir (Lake Qiandaohu). An ecological model has been built according to our long-term studies to quantify the relationship between the fishery, water resources and environment management.
